Bilateral Cleft Lip- Successful Primary Correction

A 3-month-old baby girl born with bilateral cleft lip and palate was brought to our hospital by her parents for specialized cleft lip & palate surgery.
Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. S.M. Balaji performed the primary cleft lip correction surgery using Paul Black’s technique to reconstruct the lip enabling the baby to feed well while also dramatically enhancing the baby’s appearance. Subsequent cleft palate surgery will be done to completely rehabilitate the child.

This is a case of prognathic lower jaw. She came with the complaint of long, protruding lower jaw due to which she was not able to chew foods and speak properly. After thorough clinical and radiological examination, Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. S. M. Balaji planned to correct her bite surgically by removing the mandibular excess.
Following Obwegeser’s sagittal split osteotomy (Bilateral sagittal split osteotomy), excessive length of the mandible was removed intraorally. This improved her appearance dramatically and she is very happy to have her jaw corrected which improved her chewing efficiency and able to speak properly without any scars on her face.

A 3-month old baby boy born with bilateral cleft lip & palate was brought to our hospital by his parents seeking the best treatment for cleft defect.
Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. S.M. Balaji performed the primary lip repair surgery using Paul Black’s technique. Following surgery, the baby’s appearance improved greatly and he was able to feed well. The parents were very happy that their baby had hardly any post-surgical scars. Consecutively cleft palate correction surgery will be done.

Augmentation rhinoplasty for flat nose - BALAJI DENTAL

A 22-year-old man reported to our hospital seeking to correct the appearance of his nose. His nose was much flat in the middle portion and he wanted to have a sharp nose to improve his appearance.
Maxillofacial surgeon Dr. S. M. Balaji expertly performed the augmentation rhinoplasty. A costochondral cartilage graft was harvested and used to reconstruct the depressed dorsum of the nose. The surgery was done from inside the nose (closed rhinoplasty) so there is no scarring. The patient is very happy to have a sharp, defined & pristine nose immediately after surgery, which improved his appearance.

A 2-month-old baby boy born with unilateral cleft lip and palate was brought to our hospital by his parents for specialized treatment of the defect.
Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. S.M. Balaji successfully performed the primary cleft lip repair using modified Millard’s technique. The baby’s appearance was remarkably improved and was able to feed well. His parents were very happy to have the cleft lip surgically treated with negligible scar. After few months cleft palate repair will be done.

Reduction rhinoplasty without any scars

The patient came with a complaint of a hump in the middle portion of his nose with bulky tip. The excess bone and excess cartilage that was causing the hump was trimmed. Following lateral and medial osteotomy, lower lateral nasal septal cartilage was removed thus nose was made pristine. There were no visible scars as the entire cosmetic procedure was performed through the nose. Following surgery, the patient had an ideal sharp nose that best suited his face.
